These terms cover your use of the Cicara app. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

What Cicara does, and what it does not

Cicara looks at a photo and tells you what it thinks the creature is, along with general information about it. It is a field guide, not an authority.

The app can also look at a photo of a bite or sting mark and name the creatures whose bites most commonly leave a mark like it. That is a guess about an insect, never a statement about you. Marks on skin are not specific: very different creatures leave marks that look alike, and even a doctor cannot always tell them apart. Cicara does not diagnose, does not name any condition, and does not recommend any treatment or medicine.

Identifications can be wrong. Photographs are ambiguous, many species look alike, and some can only be told apart under a microscope. Treat every result as a strong suggestion, not a fact.

Nothing in the app is medical, veterinary, agricultural or legal advice. The risk information tells you in general terms whether a creature can bite or sting. It cannot tell you whether you are having a reaction. If you have been bitten or stung and feel unwell, if a child or pet is involved, or if you are worried at all, contact a doctor or a vet. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Do not rely on Cicara to decide whether something is safe to touch, eat, or leave near a child.

Your account

The app signs you in anonymously so it can count your free daily identifications. There is no password and nothing to remember. You can delete the account at any time in Settings → Delete account and data.

Free use and Cicara Pro

Cicara is free to use with a limited number of identifications per day. Cicara Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that removes the limit and adds the extras listed on the subscription screen.

• The price and the length of any free trial are shown on the subscription screen before you buy, in your own currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• If a free trial is offered, any unused part is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us.

Fair use

Please do not try to break the app, work around the daily limit, script it, resell access to it, or use it to build a competing dataset. We may suspend access that does any of these.

Your photos and your collection

Your photos are yours. They stay on your device and we claim no rights over them. By using the identification feature you give us permission to send a photo for analysis for the length of that single request, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Do not photograph other people and send them for analysis without their agreement.

Our content

The app, its species entries, its artwork and its name belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may use them within the app for your own purposes. You may not copy the species database or the artwork out of the app for other uses.

Availability

We try to keep Cicara working, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Identification depends on an internet connection and on a third-party service; the offline encyclopedia keeps working regardless.

Liability

Cicara is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, from an incorrect identification, or from anything you did or did not do because of one. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; if a change is significant the app will tell you before it applies. You can stop using Cicara at any time by deleting the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protections of the law where you live.
